Senior People Operations Generalist

The People Operations (POP's) team at Discord is looking for an experienced HR Generalist to help us build many upcoming programs and ensure a meaningful employee experience. Each day will be different. You may find yourself in the depths of all things benefits, payroll, compliance, compensation, and leave of absences or onboarding related. Reporting to the Head of Total Rewards and HR Operations, you will enter at an exciting and important time as we shape our HR infrastructure to a scalable path. We are focused on creating a 'Community' vs. 'Company' culture, and are committed to providing a system of support that upholds both career and personal growth.
What you'll be doing
- Partner with immigration counsel to ensure smooth processes for candidates and employees
- Be a lead for yearly ongoing audits, such as SFHCSO, non-discrimination testing, ACA reporting and 401(k) 5500
- Partner with a variety of team members (HR Business Partners, Legal, Finance) to encourage prompt, fair resolution of workplace concerns
- Improve our leave of absence process with employee experience and efficiency at top of mind
- Manage our benefits open enrollment process from end-to-end with support from the POps team
- Be our compliance specialist to research local and state requirements as we expand into new areas, including international
- Provide polish to our 'startup' tools and procedures, applying prior knowledge, researching best practices and weighting Discord company values
- Develop new company policies
What you should have
- 6+ years of HR Generalist experience, with experience at hyper-growth technology companies
- Knowledge on benefits administration, leave of absences, and US immigration
- A mindset to increase process efficiency
- Advanced project management skills, including familiarity with RACI, Asana or other PM tools
- You are looking for feedback on a problem issue that you've already provided an outline and a recommendations for
- You always lead with data and don't mind doing things as a team or on your own
