Overview
Bethesda Softworks is a subsidiary of ZeniMax Media Inc., a leading global publisher and developer in the video game industry and has an opening for a Senor Paralegal to provide support to the Legal Team in all areas, specifically focussing on the preparation and management of contracts and other legal and business documents, together with assisting with the administration of such documents. The Legal Team works on a wide range of subjects across the entire business including development, publishing and administration, to which the Senior Paralegal would be expected to contribute and support.
Responsibilities
- Preparing, reviewing, and tracking multiple contracts and Statements of Work, contract amendments, NDAs, and other legal documents
- Managing documents in and out for execution, maintaining records management systems
- Interfacing and advising relevant stakeholders and business teams
- Assist in preparing, maintaining, and updating contract templates and internal guidance documents in accordance with legislation and case law
- Driving consistency and compliance among the various studios on relevant legal and internal policy compliance areas
- Utilizing new technology to improve processes and efficiencies
- Assisting with litigation matters and legal research as directed
- Other ad hoc duties as required
Qualifications
- Minimum 7+ years of technology / entertainment law work experience from either a law firm, in-house setting, law school or combination thereof
- Solid understanding of contracts and transactions (including relevant intellectual property law), business and compliance issues
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications and other software technology
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
- The ability to clearly articulate ideas, opinions, and information, in spoken and written form.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive issues with maturity and professionalism.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
- Ability to manage and appropriately prioritize a heavy workload
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Video Games experience or a gamer, with an understanding of current legal issues within the industry
Preferred Skills
- Certified Paralegal strongly preferred
Salary Range
Senior Paralegal - The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $70,000 - $125,000 per year.
ZeniMax has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. The range above reflects the potential base pay across the U.S. for this role; the applicable base pay range will depend on what ultimately is determined to be the candidate’s primary work location. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.
