SENIOR INTERNATIONAL PR MANAGER
MARKETING & PR TEAM
BASED AT SEGA HQ IN BRENTFORD
REPORTING TO THE HEAD OF PR
POSITION OVERVIEW
Working within the SEGA Europe Central Marketing Team, you will be expected to take responsibility for a range of titles across the SEGA Europe portfolio within our ‘Pillar’ structure. We have several key pillars; Creative Assembly, Relic Entertainment, Sports Interactive, Sonic the Hedgehog, Amplitude Studios, recently acquired Two Point Studios, and SEGA Searchlight, an internal pillar focusing on new IP.
You will work closely with your respective pillar brand teams and internal SEGA Europe teams to represent and promote our titles and products utilising our network of international distribution teams and PR agencies.
It will be your core responsibility to input into pillar PR plans, work with territories to ensure each market is catered for and represented appropriately, and to then to execute these plans across EMEA regions. Additionally, the role will entail direct media relations within the UK.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Help develop, refine and implement Pillar PR plans for the titles you are responsible for in EMEA regions
- Be the point of contact for UK media for the titles you are responsible for
- Use your experience and management skills to help with the development and support of more junior members of the team
- Work very closely with the SEGA Europe Central Marketing team, including Product Managers and Community Manager to maintain a synchronised team approach
- Establish a strong working relationship with the Pillar Brand teams, especially the Pillar PR teams to ensure timely asset delivery and code distribution. This will include a heavy focus on Creative Assembly, SEGA’s biggest studio with the highest output of titles
- Regularly bring well-rounded media and influencer pitches to the studio teams to keep a steady flow of engaging earned content
- Ensure strong, regular communication to all internal teams with clear updates
- Plan and organise press events locally and/or overseas for relevant titles where required, to ensure maximum coverage for products
- Collate and distribute internal reports regularly to management, brand and PD teams regarding coverage/press feedback
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- A passion for and understanding gaming is important. A knowledge of PC strategy games is a huge plus but not a requirement
- Over 5 years’ experience working in a games PR environment, either agency or in-house or the equivalent experience working in the media as a games journalist
- Strong relationships with press. Strong relationships with PC press a bonus
- Ability to work as part of a small and busy team
- A creative thinker with great pitching and writing skills
- Great project management & PR planning skills
- Knowledge of competitor products within the industry
- Impeccable communication and problem solving skills
