Senior Network/Infosec DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced network and security devops engineer to help us across the Stillfront Group of game companies. We are always working to keep our games and supporting systems fast, reliable and secure for our global customer base, and creativity, tenacity and initiative are key. This position works directly with the talented KIXEYE teams in Canada, Australia and Vietnam, and with sister studios located across Europe, North America and the Middle East.

The types of things you do include:

• Develop strategies for network and application security across numerous locations
• Implement best-practice monitoring systems and manage security alerts and protocols
• Develop and implement physical security programs and disaster recovery protocols
• Design network topologies and integrated systems to maximize uptime and service delivery
• Assist in securing dynamic auto scaling environments in AWS
• Advise a variety of teams on best security practices for their networks and infrastructure
• Maintain security, backups, and redundancy strategies to ensure gameplay continuity in the face of man-made attacks and normal hardware/network failures
• Write and maintain custom scripts and tools to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on tasks
• Monitor and test applications and infrastructure for possible security issues, identify possible solutions, and work with developers and teams to implement those fixes
• Ensure projects move to production smoothly, create/assign issues to developers and other teams for issues that do occur in deployment

The ideal candidate is:

• A skilled architect and technologist with broad skills; a devops generalist and security specialist
• Fascinated with monitoring, testing, and securing anything and everything
• Personally invested in the systems that they build
• Loves evangelizing the magnificent wonders of a strong security program (likes working with people on security issues)
• From a background in large networks or gaming systems or similar markets
• Familiar with various security standards, such as the NIST Cybersecurity Framework

What you bring to the role:

• Bachelor’s degree or a very convincing list of work and/or projects that are relevant
• Strong knowledge of AWS services and architecture or similar Cloud architectures
• Strong knowledge of hardware/software and high-reliability, high-throughput filesystems
• Configuration and debugging experience with a variety of software and systems
• Extensive skills with APIs and automation via scripting languages (Bash, Python, Ruby, Perl, shell scripts – your choice)

It would be great (but not mandatory) if you...

• Have more than a basic understanding of Cisco or Juniper configuration, switching & VLAN design
• Have been a developer on a relevant open-source platform of some type
• Have been a coder in C, C++, Java, or other higher-layer language for those really tough problems
• Strong background in application security
