Senior Narrative Designer

Within Wizards, we've launched an internal studio focused on building a new video game franchise with cross-generational appeal. We are in the process of staffing up our development team with outstanding talent to make our first game - a completely new franchise and IP in the 3rd Person Multiplayer Action/Adventure genre.

We are seeking an experienced Narrative Designer with a passion for narrative in all its forms to help us craft the next big gaming and entertainment IP.

The ideal candidate has proven experience working with branching dialogue tools and quest systems; understands the organizational challenges of bringing bold, branching, multiplayer stories to life; and has the skills to work with a diverse team of game developers to bring our shared vision to the experience.

What You'll Do:

• Develop innovative narrative ideas and translate story concepts into solid, executable game design elements.
• Implement branching dialogue using the narrative tool you’ll help to hone and grow.
• Seek to innovate on existing narrative models to bring amazing, immersive story experiences to multiplayer gameplay.
• Build comprehensive plans to track the impact of player choices across the game and work with QA to build effective testing strategies for the story and narrative systems.
• Closely collaborate with all disciplines to express and champion the world’s narrative.
• Level up the team with your ideas, feedback, and broad knowledge of narrative design, character creation, world building, tone, dialog, and other storytelling tools.

What You'll Bring:

• 3+ years extensive narrative design experience in video games. Multiple shipped titles.
• The ability to parse and plan out sophisticated conditional dialogue and a familiarity with the tools to make it happen.
• A strong sense of story and character and how those elements are expressed in game design.
• A talent for crafting material with a humorous tone that hits various demographics.
• In-depth industry knowledge of standard methodologies and new technologies relevant to narrative design.
