Senior Manager of Consumer Insights (London)Summary
The Product Madness (Cashman, Heart of Vegas, Lightning Link) mobile gaming company based in London (part of Pixel United that includes Big Fish Games and Plarium!) is looking for a passionate Senior Manager of Consumer Insights to distill complex problems into insights that informs both the development of new games and the overall engagement of current games.
This role will be based in London, reporting into the Senior Director of Consumer Insights (based in San Francisco, CA). You’ll work directly with the executive team, Product Managers, Marketing & UA, Business Performance & Operations teams to own and execute the research roadmap. While the role is “market research” focused, the ideal candidate has an interest in and can speak to UX/Usability research…AND mobile gaming.What you'll do
- Creating and analyzing a survey from our player panel to test “themes” for a new in-game slot machine requested by the Product lead for Cashman Casino
- Overseeing an “external” (working with a vendor) UX longitudinal study to help the Heart of Vegas studio (Designers, Product, Marketing) create a “new user” tutorial for the game
- Creating a 3-6 month research roadmap for a brand new game that just got greenlit for production
- Working with other members of the Insights team to create and launch a new process for capturing, tracking and benchmarking “in-game satisfaction”
- Drive the gaming studio’s “consumer learning” agenda across several teams, including Product, Growth (Marketing/Creative/UA), Design, Business Analytics & others
- Manage all aspects of research projects, from recommending appropriate methodologies to identifying suppliers, managing design, scope of research, and budget
- Identify/select third party research vendors, effectively leveraging vendor relationships and external research partners as needed to achieve additional insights
- Partner closely with the “New Game Development” team to support new game innovation, including evaluation of early stage ideas, running concept research, and helping with early prototype testing
- Think and act with a broader business lens by partnering with the Consumer Insights team you’re part of, delivering actionable consumer insights to inspire growth across the entire organization
- Infuse consumer centricity/voice of the consumer into every aspect of the studio to inspire change through actionable storytelling, digestible consumer findings, and identifying the “why” behind the data
- Additional duties as assigned.
What we're looking for
- 8+ years of experience with all forms of quantitative and qualitative market research, with strong vendor relationships and diverse expertise around traditional and innovative methodologies
- A passion for gaming! And if you work or worked in the mobile gaming space that’s even better
- Influential insights leader with experience managing multiple projects & the ability to look across studies to synthesize and point out common threads
- Being comfortable with fast-paced, quick-turn product cycles while working and collaborating across multiple teams, functions and people (Product/Marketing/Design/Execs/Analytics/etc)
- The ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously, keep organized, and multitask in an agile environment
- Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
- The ability to understand, analyze and interpret complicated data that includes attitudinal and behavioral
- A base level understanding of UX/Usability research with an interest in running various types of research projects to help the game teams
