Senior Manager, Web Product Strategy

You will help deliver the vision of our websites as companion products to our games. The mobile game industry presents unique content opportunities and challenges, working with complex content and design systems, and technologies. You’ll work within the Marketing team, managing a team of content, design, and development professionals.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Create and manage a clear vision of the future web user experience (including multi-lingual), and shape the web product strategy.
- Establish and report monthly on web team OKRs and KPIs - being able to translate data into an objective story about web function performance.
- Play a key role in both high-level strategy and leveling up our web experiences with design thinking, helping us achieve our mission to entertain the world.
- Shape the content of our web experiences, maintaining important player journeys that help our players download, onboard, play, and strategize.
- Manage a team that helps create content including line management of the Principal Designer and Lead Web Developer.
- Collaborate and have a high aptitude for bringing stakeholders together to get alignment with creative and technical teams to deliver clear, empathetic, engaging content experiences that are customer-focused and align with strategic business objectives.
- Continually oversee the operations and production of web content, and evolve our web product voice and content standards - prioritizing work, capacity planning, and ensuring appropriate approvals are gained.
- Report to the SVP of Marketing & PX in the short term, and in the long term to the Head of Marketing Communications.
Your core responsibilities will be:
- Own the end-to-end experience of web content and web user journeys
- Establish and operationalize a web content team
- Manage a team of contractors who write, edit, and improve content across the web
- Commission and edit impactful web content that helps our players understand and progress in our gamesDefine localization strategy and oversee the pipeline of localized content in collaboration with the Marketing PM team
- Offer a content design perspective throughout the web product development process, influencing strategic decisions across products to improve the overall experience and ensure consistency
- Work across teams to drive consensus and advocate for solutions that balance the needs of our users with our business goals
- Maintain and evolve web voice and tone guidelines and raise awareness of our practice across the team
- Help to establish the voice and tone across our website and in wider marketing efforts globally, supported by the Brand Team and in collaboration with our major IP partners, Disney and Marvel
- Generate multiple ideas quickly, and connect with players to validate directions
- Take ownership of our content quality, working with the team to ensure the highest standards are set and maintained
- Own the end-to-end process of producing content including identifying topics, writing, and working with others in the Marketing Team on design and promotion across different channels.
- Work with internal stakeholders from across marketing and game product teams on quarterly planning for the Web Team, resourcing accordingly, and managing budgets
- Make sure all agreed content projects are delivered on time and within budgetUsing data insights from tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and UTM tracking to suggest strategies for page improvements
- Track and examine the performance of content and share learnings
- Work closely with the content leads to share knowledge and best practices, and other teams within Marketing such as SEO, PR, PPC, and Email
- Optimize content for conversion and organic leads
- Incorporate SEO strategies into your content production process.
- Keep abreast of developments by studying papers, attending events, speaking, and engaging with a community
Your background includes:
- 10+ years of web and content strategy at a product-driven company with a global user base.
- Experience with web products and technologies
- Expertise in accessible UX writing for digital products: microcopy, user education, new features, and product launch content.
- Information architecture, OOUX, or navigation experience
- Solid understanding of user experience design principles and design thinking
- Have experience in creating content pages that rank highly in SERP through SEO improvements
- Strong people leadership and track record of collaboration with 4+ years of experience managing teams
- Excellent communicator
- Aptitude for bringing stakeholders together to get alignment - workshop planning and facilitation experience ideal
- Leadership background with an understanding of active listening and coaching leadership
- Enjoy mentoring junior team members, and leading by example to help others adopt best practices
- Experience in working with UX design teams on creating intuitive and accessible user journeys
- Experience overseeing Voice and Tone guidelines for web and mobile experiences
- Driven self-starter with excellent organizational skills who can drive content projects from start to finish
- Creative problem-solver who can lead large content efforts coupled with the capability to juggle and prioritize many projects simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and delivery skills
- Ability to achieve consistency by following, maintaining, and evolving content standards
- Strong research skills and ability to gather and interpret data to produce content and inform strategy
- Ability to present and sell your ideas, create consensus, and build support
- Be naturally passionate about content that resonates with new and existing audiences
