As Senior Manager, Public Policy and US State Strategy, you will report to the Director of U.S. Public Policy and State Strategy developing an engagement strategy for the U.S States. You will help build relationships and promote an environment that best positions Roblox for the future across the U.S. and with our partners globally. You will work internally and externally with a mastery of Roblox's policies and philosophies to advocate firstly on behalf of the Roblox community, and also on behalf of our product and engineering teams and its business.
You have experience working with policymakers on both sides of the aisle - we want to build a team where diversity of thought is paramount. You have an excellent EQ, and will work collaboratively with all company partners. You're comfortable identifying policy issues, solving those issues, and bringing improved products to our players and creators. You are passionate about the community we serve, and the policy issues we need to address, including child safety, developers, small businesses, platforms and user generated content, and more. Above all else, you appreciate that relationships often create outcomes and work excellently and collaboratively with others
You Will:
- Build relationships with state policymakers and political figures
- Identify and analyze policy issues affecting Roblox in the U.S. States
- Develop strategies for engaging with state policymakers around issues important to Roblox
- Assist the wider public policy team on ongoing projects
- Advise Roblox company partners on public policy matters as inputs to the development of our products and business operations
- Explain our public policy positions in briefing papers and consultation responses
- Communicate with external partners on behalf of Roblox on public policy topics
- Be supported in your efforts to maintain both a work and personal life, to build your career, and encouraged to take on responsibilities and risks that help you grow in a way you feel good about
- Be travel frequently domestically
You Are:
- Passionate about public policy issues around the U.S.
- Open to being on the road frequently, meeting with policymakers and main opinion formers to relationship-build
- Policy experienced in finding creative solutions that help the people around them do their best work
- Presentation experience, with stellar oral delivery across multiple platforms, live and virtual
- Written skills
- Team player across many different groups to align for a common goal
- Self-starter, with the ability to define your own work and processes
- Fluent in Spanish
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
Annual Salary Range
$210,490 — $275,910 USD
