Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a Senior Manager, Overwatch League to provide leadership and direction across all of our Overwatch League programs in China.

This person will lead and monitor the development of all Blizzard China Overwatch League programs in China, including the conception and production of live and online tournaments featuring Overwatch League at all levels of competition. This person will also directly manage our relationship with our local 3rd party esports partners. The Senior Manager, Overwatch League will ultimately be responsible for the maintenance and growth of our China Overwatch League network of organizers, shout casters, players, and volunteers.

The ideal candidate is an independent, self-motivated leader with a proven track record of designing creative competitive systems, proactively identifying key strategies, anticipating business needs, and implementing solutions across the organization. This person must have strong personnel management, motivational skills, and must be able to produce epic experiences for the players of our games.

The Senior Manager, Overwatch League will work closely with different teams such as community operations, community content, public relations, events, marketing, Web, production, and the partnership teams.

Responsibilities

• Direct Blizzard Overwatch League team in China.
• Lead and work with partners as required on the strategy, planning, development of all local Overwatch League programs, and tournament systems.
• Align global esports strategy to build consensus and visibility in the design process for key stakeholders across the organization and externally as well.
• Oversee and provide support if necessary on all partners Overwatch League execution program.
• Meet and exceed agreed upon key performance indicators for each program.
• Develop and distribute management level reports in support of business reviews.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years’ experience in esports, organized play, sports organizations management, or equivalent
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in management
• Extensive experience of competitive gaming, pro-gaming, ladders, leagues, and tournaments
• Strategic thinker with strong leadership, management, and communications skills
• Prior event and / or tournament organization and budgeting experience
• Possess excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills, while maintaining an ability to always stay focused on the work at hand and develop partner relationship
• Strong communications and presentation skills, with the ability to work with other members across the organization
• Able to organize thoughts and make decisions under time constraints and a full work load
• Able to interface effectively with both gamers and business people
• Passionate player of video games, particularly Overwatch
• Able to travel, including international travel
• Excellent spoken and written communications skills in English and Chinese
• Bachelor's degree
