Position Summary

This position is responsible for Customs Compliance management including the overall coordination and execution of import and export activities and the development, implementation and maintenance of compliance programs. This position is responsible for ensuring that all import and export related activities are in compliance with regulations including but not limited to the Export Administration Regulations and the Code of Federal Regulations.

Essential Job Functions:
• Acting as liaison with internal departments in regulatory and duty matters, interfacing with related departments regarding inquiries related to import and export compliance.
• Managing projects and programs including but not limited to internal and/or external import and/or export reviews and audits and import and export compliance metrics and dashboard reports.
• Creating and implementing procedures to ensure overall compliance with International Traffic In-Arms Regulations (ITAR).
• Ensuring that compliance efforts satisfy the domestic and international laws and regulations for the import and export of finished goods.
• Developing, implementing and maintaining processes, process improvements and systems for import and export compliance with assistance and input from the Compliance Department.
• Developing operational solutions by solving work problems.
• Implementing process improvements as needed.
• Facilitating change throughout the organization to embrace compliance requirements.
• Conducting GAP analysis on standard practices to ensure compliance measures are included.
• Working directly with the Aftermarket Parts and Components Import Export Compliance Managers to ensure consistency in current compliance practices.
• Training and educating internal departments on compliance regulations.
• Making decisions with respect to the compliance of import and export transactions.
• Implementing compliance processes.
• Conducting various internal audits to ensure proper protocol is followed and making suggestions and improvements to current company procedure to streamline compliance processes.

• May require weekend and evening hours. May require international and domestic travel.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• 8 years of import/export compliance experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment or in a customs brokerage business.

Education:
• BS-Logistics /Supply Chain/Import-Export

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
• Proven track record of leading business, functional, and/or organizational transformation
• Ability to operate strategically, while understanding the tactical implications of decisions
• Strong negotiations, problem solving, analytical skills, and financial acumen
• Strong coaching, program management , leadership skills, team oriented individual with ability to motivate others, particularly in a virtual environment
• Ability to communicate and interact with senior leadership, produce and deliver presentations to a wide range of audiences
• Must have sound supply chain knowledge to be able to influence and drive operational and sourcing transformation
• Adaptable and flexible to changing business environments, while providing exceptional situational leadership
• Ability to manage multiple projects, map out and set objectives and priorities, anticipate problems and proactively work to resolve them
• Risk management skills with ability to mitigate effectively

Physical Requirements:
• Office Environment, some exposure to manufacturing
