This role will oversee data, analytics, and reporting needs and drive the analytics vision for Zynga games managed and operated out of Studio-I. The senior manager works alongside cross-functional leads as a trusted analytics partner, helping provide teams with the data and insights that will drive continued success, ensuring that we offer the best possible player experience to keep players coming back to our games.
A successful candidate will be a skilled leader with experience building and leading teams of analysts and data professionals. This leader will have a passion for mentoring and developing new talent and ensuring growth of individual careers. Furthermore, this leader will possess deep interpersonal skills and have demonstrated success in partnering with other game makers internally in disciplines like Product Management, Production, Design and external to the game studio by collaborating with analytics and product teams globally
The role works closely with other senior leads in the India Analytics team, and reports into Head of Analytics as part of a wider analytics organization.
- Lead by partnering with leadership functions across the organization and become a thought leader, suggesting opportunities and driving analytics value for game products and wider business both strategically and operationally.
- Own objective evaluation of game health and all content/feature releases, through daily KPI reports, bi-weekly business health meetings, and feature/event readouts and analysis.
- Engage with the game leadership team to provide insights and guidance derived from quantitative study; influence and analytically validate product assumptions and roadmap.
- Manage and mentor a high-performing team of IC dedicated to providing insights and highlighting opportunities to improve acquisition, engagement, retention, monetization, and player experience for our current and potential customers.
- Conduct partner relationships with leads of the Product Management, Design, Marketing, Advertising and Production organizations to understand the analytical requirements of the business. Driving collaborative cross functional results for the studio.
- Analytics product owner ensures the development and maintenance of KPI dashboards/reports that signal deviations from expected outcomes, empowering feature owners to manage performance for the business.
- Guide the analytics organization to build data science models to predict behavior and segment players to allow for customization of player experience.
- Provide leadership and guidance to help in experimentation efforts, including experimental design and analysis.
- Governance around game team’s data assets by defining telemetry events, architecting data models, and defining data quality governance.
- Collaborate with software architects, database engineers, analysts, data scientists and game teams to drive key strategic initiatives for the betterment of the data and analytics infrastructure.
- Work with the global senior analytics leadership across the Zynga portfolio to contribute to wider analytical organization's continued success.
About You: Bonus points for each of these
- Consistent record as a leader with increasing responsibilities with an ability to grow analytical capabilities and demonstrate strong results.
- BA/Msc in Computer Science, Data Science, Math, Statistics, Economics or other quantitative field; Masters desirable.
- 5+ years related work experience in Analytics, Business Intelligence and/or Data Warehousing.
- 2+ years experience in team management, including hiring, building key projects and career management.
- Strong business acumen and ability to evangelize an up-to-date awareness of where analytics/data science can be leveraged to provide business value.
- Experienced in working with ambiguity, demonstrating critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities both independently and collaboratively.
- Experience in defining highly complex requirements, framing issues into recommended approaches using appropriate tools/methods.
- Experience in data governance, data-driven automation, experimentation design and execution, and personalization initiatives.
- Proven track record in sharing complex results, recommendations and actions in a style that best fits the audience for maximum engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to be a partner, identify winning opportunities and determine complex resolutions cross functionally where needed (e.g. engineers, product managers, analysts, business, and marketing functions at all levels).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, that allow collaboration and influencing at all levels and cross-functionally.
- Experience with different programming languages (e.g. SQL/R/Python) - (The majority of our stack is Python)
- Experience working with large datasets, preferably in a Snowflake, Redshift or Spark environment (MLlib/ML).
- Experience working in gaming or other technical consumer product facing industries is a bonus.
