Group Manager, China Strategy and Opportunity Markets East Liaison

Group Manager, China Strategy and Opportunity Markets East Liaison

You will report to the Global Marketing Organisation and will be part of the China Strategy and Opportunity (OM) East Market Liaison team. You will deliver strategic mid-range planning for China and serves as the marketing liaison between Global Marketing and OM East territories (Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, South Korea, and Taiwan) with the goal of achieving greater business scale.
Key Functions and Responsibilities of the Role:
PlayStation is seeking a highly driven and experienced professional to fill the role of Group Manager who will lead our China Strategy and OM East Market Liaison team. This role is twofold: For China, to lead the development of mid-term strategies that will help secure strong market position for PlayStation. For OM East, you will partner with the global marketing and the marketing teams in the territories to together to deliver optimal marketing strategy, structure and execution framework with the ultimate goal of achieving business and marketing objectives.
Key Responsibilities
China
- You will work with key partners, leading the process for developing an insights driven mid-range marketing strategy that will help SIE achieve business objectives and deliver a drastically improved market position in the market
- You have a knack to provide leadership in developing robust mid to long term strategy and direction, expansive of risk assessment, industry trends and market intelligence analysis.
- You have the talent to build strong networks internally across teams and departments to align strategic and corporate priorities
- Working closely with teams based in China and Japan, to both contribute to global marketing strategy and help set clear and measurable objectives and performance targets to enable a test and learn approach
OM East Market Liaison
- Lead, propose, build and continuously optimize robust and effective process framework for OM East territory marketing teams
- Be the voice of OM East territory marketing and be their champion throughout the global marketing org ensuring OM East market needs are heard and collected in global marketing strategies
- Work in close partnership with global marketing to develop effective marketing approach in-line with business and commercial needs your assigned territories.
- Own the implementation of global marketing strategies using global assets across OM East markets
- Streamline information flow and approval processes
You are required to be an experienced marketing professional with particular strength in developing strategy, interpret market and research data coupled with the ability to execute in a cross-cultural, international environment. The position will require high levels of collaboration, communication, agile thinking, leadership abilities as well as the acumen to execute complex programs. Excellence in verbal and written communication skills is also important, as the role will be instrumental in leading communication across a global organization.
Required Qualifications:
Education
Preferred Education
- Masters of Business Administration or similar Master’s degree
Experience
- Minimum of 12 years of marketing experience in consumer marketing with an excellent understanding of the full range of marketing techniques
- Significant experience and familiarity with international markets along with shown success in driving business growth and market penetration.
- Experience and understanding of business operations with strong prioritization skills
- Shown leader with ability to motivate and hire teams
- Strong project management and organization skills
- Extraordinarily strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to distill insights and recommendations in a concise, articulate manner

- Intellectual bandwidth to handle multiple partners across geographies and functional specialisms
- Strategic thinker who provides direction to senior leaders in various areas, groups, and/or operations, both internally and externally
- An all-around great teammate; ambitious, hardworking and focused as you will be working with multiple partners from across the SIE marketing teams as well as other departments
- Able to identify and develop opportunities to improve, innovate and/or pioneer new ways of working through continuous process improvement practices.
