Job Description
As a Senior Game Designer you work with a multidisciplinary team to create, implement and drive the live features of the game design. Crafting the game’s systems and mechanics, through clear documentation, prototyping and iteration. You work inclusively with the other departments to innovate, evolve and implement the design to ensure a high-quality player experience.
What will you do?
- Work with the Directors, determine how the live game mechanics and systems will be implemented, while closely collaborating with the game teams to develop these systems.
- Lead the development of specific features. Define, design, and implement game systems from conception to realisation.
- Throughout production, make necessary changes to the games design arising from feedback, in order to achieve the game direction and desired player experience.
- Communicate and collaborate with key stakeholders across multiple disciplines; updating them on the progress and challenges;
- Initiate and help drive improving the standards of all design practices;
- Combine innovation with a strong knowledge of industry standards;
- Produce clear and effective design documentation of major features.
Qualifications
What will you bring?
- Key knowledge and understanding of game systems design.
- Strong knowledge of current design methodologies.
- Good awareness of live market trends.
- Strong knowledge of a wide range of games across multiple platform and their core design practices.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant documentation software.
- Be an advocate and ambassador for the feature and the sharing of the information from it.
- Show an ability to navigate through ambiguity and embrace change with a positive mindset.
- Support and mentor more junior members of the team.
Relevant Experience
- Either a Bachelor’s degree in Game Design or relevant training/experience.
- Experience designing live products or features in Game Design or relevant role.
- Experience in complex development such as AAA development or equivalent.
