Your Role: Working closely with art and tech teams to provide creative and innovative solutions to lighting and lookdev issues across the studio.
- You will be a key part of developing a coherent lighting and lookdev pipeline to unify approach and technique across the studio.
- Using knowledge of real world lighting methods alongside game engine optimisation techniques, you will set atmosphere and direct attention for both gameplay and cinematic content, ensuring it is high quality and performant.
- You will also play a key role in testing and developing the studios use of next generation lighting in Unreal 5 and how it interacts with continuing material development.
Requirements
Your Skill:
- A technical minded person with a creative way of solving lighting and lookdev challenges and issues within engine.
- Prior knowledge of cinematography principles, lighting and colour theory, with the enthusiasm and ability to use this effectively in a real-time environment.
- A passion for real-time is essential, along with the desire and ability to bring film-quality to our in-game assets. This is a highly collaborative environment, the ability to work with other departments to resolve technical and creative challenges is key.
Your Experience:
- Real-time cinematic lighting, baked/dynamic lighting and lighting/shading optimisation using modern game engines is essential.
- Experience as a lighting/lookdev artist for film/TV or high-end real-time applications is desirable but not essential if you already have real-time cinematic experience.
- An understanding of digital imaging principles and the creation of calibrated lighting environments to aid the look development process would be beneficial.
- Knowledge / previous experience with visual scripting methods in engine would be desirable.
