We are looking for Senior Level Designers with proven experience in using UE4. You will be responsible for blocking out and building levels and be ready to heavily iterate on them; from implementing feedback from play testing and peer and Leads review. You will work with the design and code teams on making levels as fun as they can be, and integrating features into the built levels. You will also cooperate with the art department to make sure your levels are up to the highest visual quality while retaining the gameplay and fun. You will have a full level ownership from paper design, through greybox to scripting, iteration, debugging, optimization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and implement game levels.
- Creating level layouts, player objectives, enemy placements and incorporation of relevant gameplay mechanics to deliver high quality, exciting gameplay.
- Understand the role of pacing, narrative, chokepoints, routes, lines of sight, theme and mechanics in creating compelling gameplay experiences.
- Collaborate with cross-discipline teams to create exciting, innovative and engaging levels.
- Full ownership of levels from paper design, through greybox and iteration to final, shippable quality.
Requirements
- Proven, professional experience in Level Design with at least one shipped PC/Console game.
- Good imagination in designing levels and a passion for level design.
- Ability to process, understand and implement feedback from play testing and design direction to hone the gameplay experience.
- Professional Experience with Maya.
- Professional experience using UE4 and UE4 Blueprint Scripting.
- Experience of AI placement and setup.
- Excellent verbal and written skills, good communicator and ability to work well within a team.
- Self-motivation with ability to prioritize and deliver best quality work to deadlines.
- Passion for first person/third person shooters and character action games a benefit.
