Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Manage the design of your levels through the full cycle of production from conception to finalization;
- Understand and implement the desired gameplays in the levels;
- Maintain and balance the readability, difficulty and accessibility of the levels;
- Understand and apply the narrative and emotional ambition for the environments you are responsible for;
- Collaborate with the Creative, Art, and Gameplay Programming teams;
- Share their knowledge and mentor other Level Designers;
- Be able to identify and resolve technical issues and bugs.
Qualifications
Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience in game development, and at least 4 working as a Level Designer on AAA Games;
Skills:
- Formal education in video game development is a plus;
- Absolute passion for making games & an extensive video game culture;
- Excellent ability to organize and structure his/her own work and that of the team (appraisals, control, schedule);
- Extensive understanding of level design process including level flow, engagement, structure, pacing, environmental storytelling, testing, etc.
- Leadership & decision making skills;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Experience as a people manager and/or senior team member with leadership responsibilities. Ability to quickly adapt to new situations;
- Strong analytical skills.
