The Diablo team is looking for a skilled 3D Level Designer with experience building environments using Unity, Unreal or other similar 3D level-building tools. Level Designers need to be able to build fun and exciting environments that look and play excellently.
This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Albany, NY or Irvine, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Build vast gameplay spaces by sculpting terrain and using a mix of greyblock and real assets.
- Collaborate with designers and artists to build compelling gameplay spaces.
- Give feedback and constructive critiques of the work of peers.
- Capture feedback and translate it into iterative improvements.
- Support gameplay vision by participating in conceptualization and presenting blockouts to the team.
- Assist in project planning and scoping to ensure on time delivery milestones.
- Support and mentor Junior Designers on your team
- Maintain and develop technical authoring standards for the contiguous open world
- Work through technical problems and develop solutions
Requirements
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Level Designer on a shipped product
- Deep understanding of level design theories and practices
- Experience with any proprietary terrain sculpting tool (Unreal, Unity, Maya, etc)
- Experience planning layouts in Illustrator, Photoshop, or other similar applications
- Ability to maintain a positive demeanor in a highly collaborative and iterative team environment

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $80,800.00 - $149,400.00 Annual. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
