Job Title: - Level Artist

**Note**: Final Designation / Level will be decided based on the relevant experience and interview ratings.

Summary:

You will join the art team on a AAA console project with the responsibility of placing environment elements within the game to compose a scene aesthetically while also creating gameplay. You will also work in close collaboration with the Level Designers on implementing game elements. In a lesser capacity you may work on level art and asset textures and modeling. You will ensure that your work remains within the artistic, technical and gameplay constraints.

Responsibilities:

• Place world assets to dress a scene, giving context to the story while providing gameplay opportunities.
• Work with the Level designer to bring aesthetic composition to scenes with strict technical and gameplay constraints
• Communicate and collaborate with offsite level artists and designers

Experience required:

• At least 5 years of experience on AAA console game productions.
• Experience of 3D composition and scene creation with a realistic theme.
• Experience of creating realistic 3D props and environment assets a plus.
• Experience working creatively within strict design and technical constraints.
• Good understanding of the console game development process

Skills required:

• Skilled at designing and composing 3D backgrounds and realistic textures with game engines, 3ds Max and Photoshop.
• An excellent sense of composition.
• Strong understanding of how level design defines gameplay.
• ZBrush and Substance Painter/Designer knowledge a plus.
• Independent, organized and proactive, you have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work on a team.
• Extremely adaptable, especially in terms of quality and time constraints, with a precise attention to detail.
• Good artistic skills and a good sense of observation.
• Versatility, independence and a sense of initiative are your strong points.
• Very good spoken and written English and strong communication skills.

Additional desired skills:

• Understanding of French language a big advantage.
• Interest in Lighting.
• Familiarity with the history of art and architecture.
• Good basic 2D drawing technique.
• Proficiency in ZBrush and in baking normal maps.
• You are passionate about creating video games and have a strong gaming background.
