Job Description
The studio Ubisoft Paris Mobile is looking for a Senior/Intermediate Material Artist (M/F) to join its AAA mobile project in open-world. You will mainly be in charge of producing textures and materials required for character closing, environment and various props.
As such, your missions include:
- You produce all the textures required (Nmap, Rough, Albedo ...) respecting the PBR constraints and the quality level expected using Substance Designer;
- You participate in production planning of materials with the Lead Artist and other 3D artists relying on both production needs and what already exists;
- You oversee and develop material library so that they can be reused by 3D artists;
- You are proactive in exchanging with 3D and Tech Artists in order to adapt textures to their needs and constraints and develop sets of shaders and advanced materials;
- You make sure of optimizing the number and use of textures produced;
- You ensure the quality of the textures once integrated and make the improvements if needed
Qualifications
- You have a minimum of 4 years of experience in the creation of textures for the video game or film industry, ideally on AAA projects.
- You have a good command of Substance Designer and Painter, as well as a solid understanding of RBP and Light-Material Interactions
- You have a good knowledge of ZBrush, Photoshop and 3DS max (or equivalent) on mapping functions and knowledge of modeling
- Skills in scripting, automation tools or shaders (HLSL) would be appreciated.
- Knowledge of the Unity engine is a plus
- You have a strong appetite for stylized art direction.
- You are creative, autonomous and you know how to be proactive.
- You have a strong interest in the video game industry
