You are a curious engineer that thinks about scaling applications infrastructure. You have the ability to quickly learn technology stacks and identify areas to improve the end user experience. We have the majority of our applications on Kubernetes (some still on ECS), and keep a lot of non-application infrastructure (Kafka, data stores, etc) on EC2 managed with Chef. YOU WILL
- Develop and maintain all aspects of operations infrastructure
- Create next-gen infrastructure supporting external and internal applications
- Predict scaling problems before they occur
- Employ preventive measures to maintain high availability servers that service 65 million requests a day
- Utilize AWS EC2 and Kubernetes
YOU HAVE
- 4-6 years experience in site operations
- Strong software engineering, database, system administration, and infrastructure management skills
- Managed operations and infrastructure for a large-scale website
- Familiarity with the following technologies: AWS, Chef/Puppet, deployment of Rails applications, Kubernetes/Docker, Memcached, Redis, Docker, and git
- Database management in MySQL, and overall Linux knowledge
- BA/BS in Computer Science
