Senior IT Systems Administrator

Job Description

ML Horizons is seeking a high energy, personable, and experienced IT Systems Engineer to assist developers of world-class mixed reality solutions for customers in the government civil, defense, and intelligence sectors. As a primary contact for employee IT support, this position will identify and resolve challenges faced by our engineering teams – allowing them to produce innovative results for our customers. In addition, routine system maintenance, patching, device staging and rollout, and other front line IT tasks are part of this position’s portfolio. Qualified candidates need to be a self-starter, which cannot be stressed enough: We are tasked with solving problems that have not been solved before.

Responsibilities

• Administer Windows, MacOS, and Linux Servers/Desktops in on premise and AWS environments
• Experience with Root Cause Analysis of Systems issues (OS and applications)
• Ability to triage and troubleshoot systems, network, and manufacturing equipment issues and identifying needs for escalation
• Provision, maintain, and deprovision user accounts inside Microsoft Active Directory, Office 365 GCC High, and Azure AD
• Provide hands on technical support to end users in our Orlando, FL office
• Work with InfoSec team on systems hardening and patching to retain RMF, NIST, or CMMC compliance as appropriate
• Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills
• Ability to clearly document and communicate technical information to non-technical users and update all appropriate documentation including current user procedures, training materials, etc
• Team player who enjoys working in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment and can effectively deliver on job responsibilities within aggressive timelines
• Able to work on both unsupervised operational tasks, and those that fall within the scope of projects directed by a dedicated project manager
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills
• Ability to bridge technical challenges between vendor/customer interactions
• Ability to work in a DevOps team
• Managing multiple overlapping initiatives including, but not limited to security compliance, operational best practices, and ongoing projects
• Provide network and systems support to demo teams that travel to customer sites
• This position may require infrequent travel to locations such as other offices of Magic Leap, ML Horizons, or customer locations

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical support in a multi-site IT environment
• Thorough knowledge of Windows, MacOS, Linux System Administration/Support Experience
• Extensive knowledge of computer hardware and software
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Hands-on experience with racking and stacking server equipment
• Ability to work independently and in teams reaching high levels of productivity
• Comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously
• Working knowledge of basic TCP/IP networking such as VLANs and IP routing and subnets
• Working knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere and Nutanix
• Demonstrates a strong work ethic and a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
• Knowledge of the Risk Management Framework, NIST 800-171, and new CMMC cybersecurity compliance requirements is highly desirable
• Experience with Office 365, InTune, and Azure AD a plus

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university; or 4+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
