Next Games redefines the way entertainment franchises transform into engaging mobile games with an authentic and social fan experience at the heart. We create compelling fans-first interactive experiences by combining the stories of well-known movies and TV series with interesting game mechanics. An unwavering focus on fans is at the core of our development. Newly acquired by Netflix, and as part of Netflix Games, we are heading on a journey to reinvent gaming, disrupting the mobile market with a shift from free-to-play to one unfettered by the constraints of monetization.
As our Senior Games Analyst you will be an integral part of our very international Business Intelligence team working in Helsinki. We are looking for someone with both experience with and passion for analysing mobile games . In this role you are both expected to take on ownership for one of our upcoming titles as well as be a mentor to our other analysts and play an important part in supporting our data science and other teams on larger model applications such as retention prediction amongst others.
Responsibilities:
- Working as an analyst for one of our game titles, carrying out various types of analysis and tasks to help the team meet their data-related needs
- -Help design and develop KPIs that are useful and actionable in a new era of gaming, and based on which you provide analysis to optimise our games together with the game teams
- -Provide analytics of the in-game economy in collaboration with the development and production team (inflation rate, bottlenecks, churn rate, etc)
- -Design and build actionable dashboards for monitoring and reporting, and educate and assist other end users in doing the same to increase self-serve capabilities
- -Taking an active role in feature planning and mapping out the future of the respective game title in collaboration with the game team
- -Having a proactive approach to analytics, actively communicating findings and methodologies to the game team and other stakeholders, and proposing new ideas for tools, processes and practices on top of ongoing reactive work especially in the context of the wider Netflix data platform
- Acting as a mentor for more junior team members to aid with their career development
- -Aid with the use of relevant tools and approaches to help solve analytics questions
- Collaborating on devising methodologies around testing and validation for new and existing games with the BI team and larger stakeholders as required, including A/B testing
- Other broader research as it comes up
Requirements:
- Experience analysing problems, identifying constraints, and prioritising practical recommendations
- Extensive practical quantitative and statistical analysis experience
- Practical experience in a general data analysis language such as SQL, Python/R
- Experience with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau or Periscope
- Excellent communication skills, turning mathematical analyses into clear action, helping others understand the relevance and find the right solutions based on the numbers
- As a senior, you are naturally able to own your work, are able to manage deadlines and prioritise your work, and you help others do the same
Appreciated, but not hard requirements:
- A degree (BS/MS/PhD) in a quantitative field (operations research, mathematics, physics, statistics, engineering, economics, etc) helps us assess your skills. But, if you have the skills without a degree in a relevant area, we’d still love to hear from you.
- Prior experience of similar work in the gaming industry is a plus
- Prior experience with mentoring other team members or leading small teams is seen as a benefit, but not a requirement
