Senior Gameplay Programmer

Turtle Rock Studios is looking for a Senior Gameplay Programmer to join the team and work on Back 4 Blood! Do you have an interest in character movement, controls and camera systems? This role is a perfect blend of creative and programming where you will work with our engineers, designers and artists to tackle the challenges of creating, implementing and optimizing current and new systems and tools for our current project!
Responsibilities
- Extend engine and game character and camera systems to enable high quality features
- Work directly with designers and animators to prototype and deliver excellent combat, character locomotion and movement mechanics
- Collaborate daily with gameplay and AI programmers, designers, and artists to build elegant solutions to challenging problems in complex game worlds
- Proactively identify and fix bugs and performance problems in core engine and game systems
- Build a variety of gameplay features including locomotion, character and camera specific states in code and data
- Assist designers with workflows and tools
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years experience in character movement, controls and camera behaviors
- Minimum of 2 years experience in both gamepad and keyboard based controls
- Excellent communicator with strong verbal and written English skills
- Minimum of 4 years experience writing, debugging, and optimizing C++
- Advanced 3D math skills
- Excellent problem solving and time management skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Engineering
Preferences- Experience in Unreal Engine 4
- Experience with both first and third person cameras
- Experience with controls for projectile and melee combat
- Experience with gamepad aim assist
- Experience with both console and PC game development
