Nequinox Studios are looking for a Senior Gameplay Programmer to work on an unannounced AAA title alongside some of the gaming industry's most established names.

Our new Senior Gameplay Programmer will join a fast-growing, dynamic games studio to work on cutting edge technology and exciting new games for PS4 and PS5, Xbox One and Series X, Switch and PC. You will collaborate with the design team to create and deliver gameplay mechanics, work with the wider team on planning and delivery and share a passion for games and gameplay mechanics. Although we pride ourselves on our technical excellence, we are a creative bunch, actively generating ideas and bringing our collective skills, experiences and storytelling to our innovative creative process.

You will take ownership of features, have strong problem solving skills and be excited to provide mentoring and support to the rest of your team. As a Senior Gameplay Programmer , you will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , a related Technical Degree or equivalent , have significant experience making video games and be confident with the following:

  • Expert knowledge of C/C++ and technical design
  • Experienced in writing, designing and delivering supporting gameplay systems for camera movement, NPC, player character, general game logic (C++/blueprint/scripts)
  • Shipped at least 1 AAA title from concept, design to delivery (full development cycle)
  • Strong 3D maths
  • Pushing gameplay boundaries and able to explain their systems to other disciplines
  • Debugging unfamiliar code
  • Optimise gameplay systems to meet performance requirements
  • Implementing gameplay features or systems
  • Developing in a proprietary engine or in Unreal

As an advantage:

  • UE4, Blueprints
  • Familiar with online gameplay, mechanics and requirements
  • Console experience
  • Porting experience

Salary - Negotiable, dependent on experience.

Full remote working is available during COVID, with a blend of working from home and in-studio expected post-COVID.
