Senior Gameplay Programmer [Assassin's Creed VR] (f/m/d)

Job Description
As our new Senior Gameplay Programmer (f/m/d) at Ubisoft Düsseldorf, you will be responsible for the technical design and the technical architecture of our game and gameplay features. As a member of a gameplay feature team, you will be responsible for working with Designers to build and maintain VR gameplay features that provide players with amazing experiences they can’t get from traditional flat-screen games.
What you will do:
- Work with a Product Owner and other Programmers as a point of contact for the technical design and architecture of various game features
- Design, implement, maintain and optimize game systems in C#
- Code review the work of your peers and provide valuable feedback
- Identify risks and opportunities presented during the development and provide solutions to resolve potentially complex problems
- Help the Lead Programmer in hiring and interview processes as needed
- Share your knowledge with others on the team regularly
- Keep your skills current and be continually learning
Qualifications
What you bring:
- 8+ years of development experience and have shipped AA/AAA games (or equivalent)
- Master, Bachelor or equivalent in computer science or engineering (Masters counts for 1-2 years experience)
- Strong programming skills in C#
- Strong experience with Unity
- Experience with Unity’s Job and Burst packages from DOTS is preferred
- C++ programming skills are a big plus
- Proficient in refactoring and optimizing existing systems
- Strong code reviewing skills
- Excellent debugging and problem solving skills
- Understanding of multi-threaded principles
- Ability to work efficiently with a large, existing code base
- Knowledge of different software development methods (i.e. Agile, Unit Testing, TDD...)
- Knowledge of software development environments and associated tools. (i.e. Visual Studio, Perforce, JIRA...)
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong reporting and documentation skills
- Fluent in English, both verbally and written
- Great communication skills and a positive team-player attitude
