Senior Gameplay Engineer (Rust) - Creative Play

As a Senior Gameplay Engineer you will be working on our Rust-powered game project, where we are building a social space for a younger audience - focused on fun, creation, cooperation and play.
You will be joining an established team of engineers and designers. Together you will be creating and iterating on gameplay features, systems and prototyping ideas. As a Senior Engineer, you will be a strong voice in leading implementation and architectural decisions. You will be a mentor to your colleagues and your expertise will be invaluable to our progress and keeping the codebase clean.

We are a hybrid-remote team based in Stockholm who value developers that take initiative, communicate and collaborate across the project.
Example of responsibilities
- Implementing and iterating on new and existing gameplay elements (player controls, functionality, in-game tool behaviours and more!)
- Working closely with designers on prototyping new and experimental features
- Proactively experiment with game improvement ideas; share and collaborate on the results with the team
- Rust coding, reviewing PRs, helping onboard new engineers
- Communicate across the team and engage in feedback
- Be a mentor and a role model to your engineering peers
- Take part in internal playtests, share your feedback and let your creativity drive your and your team’s work!
We would love if you have
- A creative and curious mind
- Worked on projects featuring systemic layered gameplay and player-facing creative elements.
- Experience in Rust, C++ or other high-level programming language
- Game system experience, e.g. physics, game mechanics, game AI, ECS, etc
- Experience with 3D games
- Professional English communication skills
