We are seeking a Senior Gameplay Engineer to help develop game systems as part of our project’s larger gameplay team. In this role, you will help build our world, bring it to life, and lay the foundation for a wide variety of survival gameplay features.

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA.
We need help with
- Supporting world builders and content creators with the systems and features they need to bring our world to life.
- Building on your experience to design an efficient and robust framework for all kinds of features.
- Collaborating with content creators and other gameplay teams to learn and understand their needs.
- Mentoring other engineers in coding and engine system development.
- Championing Blizzard’s core values.
Minimum Requirements
- 8+ years experience or equivalent education/work experience
- Making and shipping AAA games!
- Building systems that drive the simulation and execution of a large and dynamic game environment.
- The ability to understand and write effective and efficient C++ code
- Math, with a strong proficiency in linear algebra, trigonometry, and 3D vector manipulation
- Collaborating with content creators (designers & artists).
- Performance analysis and code optimization.
Extra awesome points for
- Experience designing, authoring, and maintaining large and complex systems
- Shipped AAA game titles or equivalent product development experience
- Familiarity with visual scripting languages (such as UE Blueprint)
- Enjoy playing a variety of video game genres and titles.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $101,000.00 - $186,754.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
