THE ROLE
Firewalk Studios is looking for a Senior Gameplay Designer who is incredibly passionate about bringing exceptional entertainment to millions of players. As our Senior Gameplay Designer, you will be responsible for driving multi-disciplinary gameplay development to build best-in-industry core gameplay and game feel.

- You can successfully manage relationships with other teams and help them get the most out of working with Gameplay Design.

WHAT YOUR DAY MIGHT LOOK LIKE- Working with the Gameplay Director to update our Gameplay Design best practices and corresponding documentation.
- Mentoring less experienced Gameplay Designers.
- Reviewing a critical feature with the Gameplay Director and Gameplay Team.
- Brainstorming potential mechanics with the team, helping to find potential issues and solutions to those issues long before the feature is even green lit.
- Collaborating with engineers, artists and other designers to discuss and detail how a gameplay mechanic will work and how your team will approach building it.
- Iterating and meticulously tuning your work in-engine to perfect the way it feels and plays.
- Helping another Gameplay Designer debug why a feature isn't coming together very well.
- Authoring player feedback like camera shakes and haptics to create a sense of impact and weight.
- Playtesting with and taking playtest feedback from the entire team.
- Balancing gameplay mechanics against one another ensuring a sense of clarity, purpose, and meaning behind every player decision.
- Reviewing a critical feature with the Gameplay Director and Gameplay Team.
- Prioritizing gameplay bugs and tasks so that we are always pushing forward what’s best for the game and the team.
QUALIFICATIONS- You have Gameplay Design experience.
- You’ve worked on multiple titles from start to finish. “AAA” experience is a plus.
- Experience with the Unreal 4 Engine is a big plus
