Senior Gameplay Designer – Permanent

OVERVIEW
London Studio are building an upcoming PlayStation 5 online game from the ground up. Quality is something that we are immensely proud to be striving for, and we are looking at putting the right team together to help take us forward with this brand-new project. New starters will be joining at the perfect time to get involved in shaping our plans for a game we are exceptionally passionate about.
We are also part of a wider network of PlayStation Studios and there are lots of opportunities for collaboration and wider support from our sister studios like Insomniac, Guerrilla, Naughty Dog and Media Molecule to name a few.
As a Senior Gameplay Designer, you will be directly responsible for the development of large-scale gameplay mechanics and systems, in areas such as combat and AI encounters, working alongside the Lead Gameplay and Technical Designer. You will also collaborate with the rest of our design team to build outstanding missions.

Scope of Work
- Propose new gameplay mechanics and systems in response to briefs.
- Work with the Gameplay team to write design documents.
- Request features from Technical Design and Gameplay Coders.
- Work with Engineers and Technical Designers to develop and configure gameplay mechanics.
- Collaborate with other disciplines such as animation and audio to bring to life compelling gameplay.
- Balance gameplay for the best possible feel.
Experience / Knowledge
- Have shipped at least one AAA PC/console title from concept to launch
- Visual Scripting experience
- Able to present and communicate the design to multi-discipline teams
- Great design documentation skills.
- Experience with combat design, alongside creating enemy behaviours and encounters
Pluses
- Experience designing Coop gameplay (local or online)
- Experience designing for online multiplayer gameplay
- Experience working on GaaS or ‘Ongoing’ games
- Experience in working with Engines and tools such as Unity or Unreal
- Experience Scripting in C#

Complexity
This is a Senior level role and as such you’ll take on large, interconnected gameplay mechanics and systems, and would be encouraged to set an excellent standard of work and offer support to less experienced Designers.

Our roles can be flexible in terms of work location in the UK. We will consider the individual’s preference for hybrid, remote or onsite working. Unfortunately we are not in a position to accommodate remote working outside of the UK.
