Senior Game Producer, Engineering - World of Warcraft

Job Description:

The World of Warcraft team is looking for a Senior Producer to support our engineering team! Engineering producers help create, prioritize, and implement our development plans for new features and changes to the systems, tools, and infrastructure we use to make World of Warcraft.

In this role, you will work with folks across the team, from associates to directors, and with every discipline on World of Warcraft. We need someone who can be a strong partner to their stakeholder teams, and who can help envision and deliver improvements to systems and processes that will support World of Warcraft development for years to come.

COVID-19 Hiring Update: We’ve transitioned to a work-from-home model and we’re continuing to interview and hire during this time. This role is expected to begin as a remote position. We understand each person’s circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore possible interim options.

What you will do:

• Coordinate project plans and the day-to-day work of an engineering team
• Schedule project milestones and deliverables, and communicate as the team makes progress
• Clarify project requirements and drive agreement between teams or individuals with conflicting priorities
• Spot and mitigate risks to our plans and milestones, and help clear blocking issues
• Identify development challenges and their solutions
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the World of Warcraft development team
• Inform decisions, together with team leadership, about process, commitments, and development priorities
• Support, empower, and celebrate our team, our work, and our successes
• Facilitate group activities from regular team meetings to ad-hoc brainstorming sessions
• Mentor producers in production tools and practices
• Forecasting and planning for a large portfolio of engineering projects

To succeed, you must have:

• 5+ years of experience in production or project management
• Strong self-direction
• A calm and deliberate attitude
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Good strategies and instincts for working with a wide range of styles and personalities
• Well-ordered approaches to defining project requirements, work, and timelines
• Comfort working in ambiguous areas where learning and adaptability are key skills
• The courage to admit when you don’t know something, and the confidence to ask “why?”
