Summary and Mission

We are looking for a Senior Game Server Engineer to work on our digital Casino infrastructure. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of profiling, optimizing, and supporting a high concurrency application. Our backend team is small, so each member has a large amount of ownership and impact on how the game is scaled.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and deploy infrastructure with emphasis on up-time and scalability
• Profile and tune highly-scalable backends
• Develop APIs for other development teams to consume
• As part of a rotating on-call duty provide the first-line defense troubleshooting production issues

Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
• 5+ years professional experience in software development
• Experience with the entire development life-cycle from gathering requirements to launching
• Comfortable with linux / command line
• Basic knowledge of networking, DNS, protocols
• Database design and SQL knowledge
• Experience scaling infrastructure
• Experience maintaining a live ops application
• Experience developing backend systems
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure
• Experience estimating effort and establishing timelines for projects as well as communicating associated risk
• Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills
• Detail-oriented, motivated, self-starter who can work without supervision
