This Senior Game Designer role draws on your competitive Magic knowledge, your curiosity and enthusiastic proclivity for learning, and a deep, intuitive understanding of game design theory and philosophy. Our team of outstanding designers collaborate to design and refine cards serving a broad variety of audiences, and evaluate and improve the environmental impacts of those cards.

This role is about exploration and learning, solving complex problems, and collaboratively improving our sets. Senior Designers guide our exploration into the shape and specifics of the environments we're building. From there, we work as a team to improve them, whether that's by tweaking designs, removing them, or coming up with something entirely new.
A Senior Game Designer takes a high level of ownership over projects and sets a strong example of leadership and collaboration on any teams they are on. Their consistent display of mastery over the various facets of game design is a model for others to aspire to.
What you'll do
- Keeping up to date on the card files, environments, and philosophies we're trying to create.
- Giving feedback and guidance to design leadership on card designs, interactions, and sets.
- Solving specific design problems at all levels; card, set, deck, and environment.
- Participate and lead team meetings and discussions by with constructive, reasoned, provocative, and respectful insights.

- Extensive experience and success as a top-tier Magic player.

- Insightful, nuanced, and eloquent communication to improve our shared vision.

- Deeply collaborative outlook and the confidence and trust to work with others.
- Ability to create a design vision and guide groups of designers to aid your goals.
- Efficiently discuss challenges at card level, environment level, and everything in between.
