Stardock is currently seeking a talented Senior Game Designer to play an important role in establishing and executing the vision for Stardock’s biggest, most ambitious unannounced game ever. The ideal candidate has a deep passion for strategy and simulation games and is comfortable with all levels of ownership, from personally designing features to providing high-level feedback and mentorship to other members of the Design team. This is a salaried, full-time position at our Plymouth, Michigan office and relocation assistance will be provided. This position reports directly to the studio's Creative Director.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Advocate for the Design team.
- Brainstorm, write ideas, create worlds, and help design a new AAA strategy/simulation game.
- Mentor a new generation of up-and-coming game designers.
- Determine gameplay experience goals.
- Communicate with our player base and sort out good from bad suggestions / ideas.
Education and/or Experience Desired:
- At least one shipped AAA game title.
- At least one shipped strategy or simulation game.
- Well-developed creative writing and communication skills.
- C hampioning design ideas and getting others excited about those ideas.
- Demonstrable ability to juggle multiple tasks at once.
- Able to learn new, often proprietary technology and tools.
- Sense of ownership and responsibility.
- Passion for strategy and/or simulation games.
Bonuses:
- LUA scripting or programming experience (or willingness to learn).
- Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline or equivalent.
- Comfortable with MS Suite, Google Docs, Visio, JIRA.
