We’re pleased to be promoting an exciting opportunity for a Senior Game Designer to join an award winning independent third-party studio based in Montreal (Quebec), Canada. The successful applicant will be joining a dynamic passionate and diverse team working on an exciting and innovative new project.

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, balance and bug fix gameplay features and systems, overseeing them from concept to final implementation
- Document game mechanics and systems in order to serve as a resource for the rest of the team
- Work closely with other designers, writers, artists and programmers to design, implement and maintain the overall balance between multiple gameplay features and systems
- Actively participate in design discussions and design reviews
- Help the project manager estimate working time and plan tasks, and follow up with other team members involved in a specific design feature to ensure a quality and timely delivery
- Adapt to accomplish tasks outside of game design
- playtest sessions, determine data tracking metrics, analyze the feedback, and determine improvements to the game.
Essential Skills & Experience
- At least 5 years of experience as a Game Designer
- At least 1 game shipped
- Ability to bring a feature design from conception to finish, including research, identifying requirements based on technology and game direction, supporting development, iteration and tuning
- Experience working on RPG systems
- Experience with game engines and productivity software
- Ability to own and iterate content to the highest quality with minimum supervision
- Ability to manage their own time and work
- Ability and desire to work in a creative and collaborative teams
- Ability to write clear, concise documentation in English
- Good communication skills
Important
- Bachelor degree in design or related experience
- Experience with Unreal Engine 4
- Scripting or programming skills
- Ability to prototype mechanics and features
- Experience with systemic design
- Experience with multiplayer
- Strong interest and experience in storytelling
Nice to Have
- Experience with level design
- Plays tabletop RPGs
