We are looking for a Senior Game Designer to bring their expert game design skills to our #1 hit mobile game Disney Emoji Blitz! You’ll have the opportunity to work with world class IPs from Disney, Pixar, and Star Wars, creating new game features, new events, and other core mechanics to continue driving the success of the game.
The candidate must have experience championing features through the entire development cycle including concept exploration, design documentation, guiding the team through development, playtesting, and following through into live ops.
Further, the candidate must have strong demonstrated experience in mobile free to play, have a deep understanding in game design theory, and be well versed with current top performing mobile games.
**Qualified applicants will be expected to complete a Game Design test.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design new core features, intricately woven into the already existing game features, events, and meta.
- Develop concepts, write detailed functional specs, and lead development for new features, new collection systems, new event types, new sales types, new merchandising opportunities, and other supporting systems.
- Ensure implementation of features are built according to design specs and creative quality.
- Collaborate with Design Lead and Product Managers on feature road mapping and event schedules.
- Follow and anticipate IP guidelines and feedback from Disney, feedback from internal teams and play testers. Modify designs as needed. Present new designs to Emoji Blitz’s game leads, and also executive leadership.
- Lead and participate in various design brainstorms.
- Provide well thought, actionable feedback on other elements in the game to other designers.
- Continually research market trends, and incorporate up-to-the-minute features and strategies.
- Implement content using proprietary tools and Unity.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of game industry design experience.
- At least 2 years of work experience designing mobile free-to-play (F2P) puzzle games, with at least one shipped F2P title as a Senior Designer.
- Experience designing a wide variety of complex features, ranging from collection and upgrade systems to events and sales.
- Outstanding spec writing and demonstrated success at communicating your designs and vision to colleagues across different disciplines.
- Experience with live operations process, timelines, content, and planning.
- Experience working with Product Managers and looking at live data.
- Understanding how to balance a high quality, fun player experience with business and KPI goals.
- Understanding player motivations, including those outside your personal gamer demographic.
- Working knowledge of Unity.

- Agile and Scrum process experience.
- Serious passion for games—you are a gamer, and have been for years.
- Drive to build and support a creative, world-class design culture.

- Able to multi-task like a pro.
- Ability to take direction and collaborate.
- Coding/Prototyping experience is a plus!
