Senior Game Designer - New Games/Midcore

Do you want to join our New Games Studio in Barcelona to support the development of an exciting new title? If you are passionate about Midcore Games, Gameplay and Systems Design, this is the right opportunity for you!

We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated, collaboration- orientated, Senior Designer to join a closely- knit team, working on the development of an ambitious new title. As a senior designer, you will have joint responsibility and accountability for the design, implementation, user testing and delivery of the systems and design architecture of the core gameplay.

Your Role Within our Kingdom

• Working on a key team, creating new midcore games and IP for King.
• In collaboration with the Creative Director and Lead Designer, helping to define the game’s core gameplay and key systems.
• Working alongside the economy designer to ensure the systems and meta- game features can be effectively monetized.
• Maintaining the highest possible levels of design quality, while respecting technical limitations and performance targets.
• Documenting, communicating, and gathering internal feedback on the game features and systems throughout the development process.
• Staying up to date on the mobile market, playtesting and analysing mobile games, and sharing insights with the team.
• Helping to establish game design best practice guidelines for your project and the wider studio.
• Creating task breakdowns to assist with scheduling.
• Tracking and reporting key risks to your producer.
• Staying up to date with industry techniques, standards and workflows, with awareness of current & upcoming game titles & technology.
• Actively seeking feedback and engagement with the studio’s design craft discipline to better both yourself and your peers.
• Working in a humble and open manner, with a willingness to learn from your colleagues.

• Strong, proven, game design experience
• Analytical and system design skills
• Confidence and experience to self- manage and self- motivate
• Experience working on mobile as a gaming platform
• Good understanding of free to play economies and meta game
• Articulate with strong written and verbal communication skills
