Senior Game Designer (Might & Magic Heroes)

Summary
Ubisoft Shanghai Studio is looking for an experienced Game Designer to join our Might & Magic Heroes Brand team to develop new exciting games (Mobile and HD)
Mission
As Game Designer you will be responsible for designing and/or reviewing features, systems, mechanics, and game content.
Your focus is on Might & Magic Heroes projects (internal and external) for China and the rest of the world
You will work closely with the Brands Director, Creative Director, Production Director, Dev Teams (Internal and External), Content Managers, Artists during the production, launch and live operations of the games
Duties:
- Play a key role in the creation of game systems, content and proposals
- Respond to feedback and analytics in a constructive manner with logical and reasoned suggestions/solutions to improve on designs
- Research and remain current on industry trends including new game genres, design methods, game themes and mechanics
- Produce clear, effective design documentation according to project standards and contribute to improving documentation standards and best practices;
- Create and maintain living documentations for all game design aspects
- Share knowledge and promote best practices in game design at project team and studio level
- Take a primary role in the overall brand gameplay review and validation among our different projects
- Provide and develop innovative game features that improve customer acquisition, engagement, retention and monetization for specific areas in the world
- Balancing and adjusting game-play experiences to ensure critical and commercial success.
- Balance game pacing/progression and in-game resources/economy to both ensure the long term retention of players and to optimize monetization
- Enhancing products through social mechanics and networking
Qualifications
Requirements:
- An absolute passion for both playing and creating games
- Knowledgeable about Chinese and Western games
- Strong aptitude for critical thinking and analysis
- Strong motivation to take on any tasks needed to complete a project
- At least 5 years’ experience in game design, at senior or lead design level on a shipped game
- Great communication skills, both written and verbal
- An understanding of statistics and analytics
Ideal Candidates Have:
- An strong understanding of statistics and analytics
- An excellent understanding on Asian and Western player behaviors
Knowledge
- Fluent English skills (spoken and written)
