Senior Game Artist

Founded in 2007, Lumos Labs is the leader in brain training. Over 100 million users have used our Lumosity application to train their cognitive skills, playing our games over 7 billion times. We support trailblazing cognitive research and there have been over 65 peer-reviewed publications in academic journals using Lumosity games, assessments or data. We are building one of the premiere digital health brands and are looking for talented, mission-oriented people to join us on the journey. Lumos Labs is located in the SoMa area of San Francisco, CA with remote colleagues country- and world-wide. This position can be performed anywhere in the U.S.
We’re looking for a Senior Game Artist who will create and implement high quality digital art assets and help provide art direction for both current and future projects. This is a great opportunity to work with our experienced games team as a visionary leader for an established and successful brand that intends to expand its game and product catalog in the future. Help us build the next generation of brain training consumer apps that reach millions of users!
YOU ARE
- Visually intelligent, talented and thoughtful in your designs
- Someone who can straddle the line between illustrator and designer
- Comfortable with turning ambiguity into ideas Experienced in animation and vector illustration
- Able to develop inspired visual solutions that help voice our brand
- Eager to be involved in a variety of things at a variety of stages on a variety of devices
- Able to listen to feedback just as well as you can offer constructive criticism
- A good self-starter who can prioritize tasks effectively and help others do the same
- Looking for a job that’s about more than just collecting a paycheck
YOU WILL
- Be a key voice in the evolution of our brand
- Collaborate closely with the developers and designers on the games team, as well as across product and marketing
- See a game through from conception to production -- from sketching out and developing concept art to implementing final game assets
- Need to design with the user in mind first and foremost
- Create assets for both our web and mobile platforms
- Help us take our current and future products to the next level
YOU HAVE
- 5+ years of working experience focused on games for mobile or webInterest / experience in art direction
- An inspired portfolio with illustration, smart visual design and an intelligent approach to solving visual problems
- Extensive experience working in Unity with a portfolio that displays an understanding of art asset & animation implementation and game design fundamentals
- An expert knowledge of Adobe suite (Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Experience with visual system design software (Sketch, Figma, InVision)
- General knowledge of game mechanics and UI/UX conventions
- Strong collaborative and communication skills to work on a close-knit team
