Financial Analyst, WW Studios

Role Overview
Located at EA Burnaby / Vancouver, the Senior Financial Analyst reports to the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis. The role provides an excellent opportunity to be a collaborative partner and trusted advisor on a global team within the Development Technology Services (DTS) organization at EA.
DTS is part of the Worldwide Studios organization, and works to provide outstanding products that influence the end-to-end Player Experience.
Business Partnering
- Support the Quality Verification team in Motive Studios, Respawn Studios, and Bioware studios
- Help with formulating strategy, translating it into action and drive business success
- Play an independent advisory role, challenge business to improve efficiency
- Communicate with and gather information from partners
- Take insights generated and influence business direction
- Present to Studio leadership
Financial Control – Consolidations, Budgeting, Forecasting and Monthly Reporting.
- Coordinate FP&A tasks with the assigned deadline
- Build budgets, forecasts, and annual plans
Operational efficiency – Produce insight between business and data.
- Receive, analyze, integrate and consolidate assumptions and data from teams.
- Knowledge of finance principles and processes
- Summarize information to create conclusions, alternatives and recommendations
- Knowledge of spreadsheet and database structures - ability to perform variance analysis and reporting
Ad Hoc Projects
- Examples include driving process improvements with both partners and finance partners, scenario analysis.
Other
- Define, incorporate and report on financial and non-financial measurements
- Promote one team culture
Skills & Capabilities
- Collaboration across teams/functions, project manager, partner, and independent team member
- Desire to enhance processes. Proactively identify business risks and opportunities.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis
- Increasing levels of responsibility and independence
- Strong business acumen with understanding of functional linkages
- Ability to effectively prioritize competing demands; comfortable with multiple daily responsibilities requiring self-validation and correction of work produced or reviewed
- Disciplined, passionate and comfortable working with senior management
- Deep MS Excel expertise is a must and MS Power BI is preferred.
- Working knowledge of financial planning systems/tools and ERP software. Specific experience within Hyperion Essbase and Oracle preferred
- Presentation and PowerPoint expertise preferred
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required.
- 3+ years of experience in a divisional or corporate finance role (FP&A or accounting)
