Financial Data & Reporting Specialist (Global Marketing)

Financial Data & Reporting Specialist

San Mateo, CA

As a part of the Global Marketing team, the Financial Data & Reporting Specialist reports to the Strategic Planning and Business Operations Manager. This role is essential to the success of the newly transformed Global Marketing division and will support the Marketing Strategy & Business Operations team.

You will bring some experience and are passionate about establishing order and process while staying agile enough to operate in a fast paced, ever-changing environment. They should be a great teammate who faces challenges with optimism and is always looking for ways to be helpful and improve the team.

Primary Functions and Essential Responsibilities:

• Responsible for maintaining financial planning system for Global Marketing including conducting monthly loads and updates, maintaining user access controls and making general updates as needed
• Field questions related to financial planning portal and help resolve issues
• Maintain marketing cost center hierarchy and corresponding details
• Responsible for coordinating submissions from various regional partners, consolidating data and analyzing results on a regular basis
• Prepare monthly and quarterly variance attribution analysis reports and provide high level explanations by coordinating responses from various departments
• Assist department with inquiries related to budget, forecast and actuals
• Assist management drive business decisions by creating or contributing to presentations and various ad-hoc analysis
• Determine efficiencies along the way and drive improvements

Education and Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, management, or finance required
• CPA is preferred

Experience Required:

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in corporate finance, accounting or financial services
• Strong financial planning knowledge base
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
• Hyper-organized individual with strong attention to detail
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Work efficiently & cooperatively with peers and across matrices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong GAAP knowledge base
• Experience with Hyperion
