Senior Environment Artist

Waves are live, interactive and immersive shows that are unlike any virtual concert you have ever experienced. We combine the best of live music, gaming and broadcast technology to transform the live music experience. Waves are live streamed globally on wave.watch and across popular social and gaming platforms including YouTube, Twitter, Twitch, TikTok, Facebook and Roblox.
You'll work with our Art Director and Content Producer to create environments and props that fit a wide variety of styles for all types of musical performers. They will range from lush forests, to futuristic cities, to audio reactive abstractions, all with the goal of setting the proper mood for fantastical and sometimes surreal concerts that go beyond what is possible in the real world.
Responsibilities
- Define, manage and delegate out resources from creation to placement
- Assist in Training and knowledge sharing with other members of the team, including in a mentorship role
- Efficiently communicate and support management and help communicate goals initiatives and company goals to the team
- Assess artistic content and establish time and planning estimates by priority and importance
- Oversee optimization and debugging to fix the issues raised by testers
- Build and integrate assets into shows and find solutions that adhere to the style guide
- Assess and plan out the space, with consideration of narrative and visual storytelling, while documenting intentions
- Plan, estimate and prioritise time frames for the completion of tasks and track progress using the designated tracking tools
- Communicate and collaborate with key stakeholders to confirm task direction
- Collaborate with technical artists and other senior artists to ensure the technical and artistic quality
- Support the Art Director and other senior artists in any ad hoc tasks and duties
Required Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to create interesting, detailed and visually appealing artistic environments
- Strong ability to adapt to new processes and pipelines
- Strong working knowledge of industry leading 3D modelling packages
- Strong knowledge of composition and visual storytelling
- 5+ years working in Unreal Engine
- Excellent understanding of Physically Based Rendering systems
- Familiarity with data management software (such as Perforce)
- Originality and resourcefulness in problem solving
- Strong Knowledge of optimization techniques
- Demo reel / portfolio required
