The opportunity
Are you interested in creating world class, groundbreaking, CG Environments on a large scale? If so, we're looking for an enthusiastic Senior Environment Artist to work in a highly qualified multi-functional team on a brand-new application Unity is developing. We're seeking a leader in their field who is passionate about live-events, gaming, and community building.
More specifically, in the next 4-12 months, you will be defining, shaping, and supporting the delivery of a creative direction and working first version alongside hard working colleagues at the top of their game!
Long term, you will work with the leadership team to define a vision of what the environments can evolve into. This will include pushing the boundaries of what is possible using Unity and real-time 3D!
What you’ll be doing
- Create efficient CG environment scenes and workflows, and ensure that assigned environments fulfill the vision of the Creative leads.
- Ensure the quality of final environments.
- Troubleshoot technical production issues.
- Communicate creative and technical issues effectively.
- Have an ability to be adaptable when changes in priorities and schedules arise.
What we’re looking for
- Experience as an environment artist, or matte painter, with a good understanding of model sculpting, matte painting, texturing, 3D projections, lighting, and compositing.
- Exceptional abilities in modelling, matte/texture painting, lighting, rendering, shader writing and compositing, as well as a strong understanding of all facets of a CG production including colour.
- Skilled at balancing artistic needs with the production requirements and technical limitations of the software and hardware employed.
- Proficient in Maya or Blender, and good knowledge of ZBrush, Substance Designer, Substance Painter and Photoshop.
- Understanding of PBR materials and photogrammetry.
You might also have
- Good knowledge of Unity.
- Tool building and scripting knowledge (Python, hscript, mel, bash).
