About the Role
Twitch's Mobile Core team supports mobile development across all of Twitch. Mobile platforms represent an ever-growing share of Twitch viewership and providing functional and delightful experiences on them is critical. As a Senior Engineering Manager you will report to the Director of Mobile Engineering and lead a team that works with modern technologies like Kotlin, Swift, Jetpack Compose, SwiftUI, and GraphQL to build a developer platform that empowers mobile developers at Twitch to more quickly deliver value to our customers. Our team has lead and delivered projects like:
- Established standardized architecture patterns for feature development on Android (RxMVP) and iOS (MVI).
- Moved our CI / CD pipelines on Android to Linux EC2 and iOS to macOS EC2.
- Added support for GraphQL query batching in the Apollo open source library.
- Created tooling to pinpoint, at a commit level, regressions in latency, network activity, and app size.
- Migrated our network stack from REST to GraphQL.
- Collaborated with AWS Interactive Video Service (IVS) team to deliver a low latency video player.
- Led a cross-company effort to improve client and instrument client availability.
You Will:
- Build the platform roadmap and deliver it to our customers.
- Represent your team in engineering discussions with other teams.
- Manage the careers of the engineers on your team and ensure their continued development.
You Have:
- 4+ years of professional software development experience .
- 2+ years of experience as an engineering manager or team lead.
- Experience with Android or iOS development.
- Familiarity with scheduling and ticket management tools such as JIRA.
