Senior, Electrical Engineer, Time of Flight Camera

Magic Leap is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer, TOF, with 5+ years of relevant experience to join the hardware development team working on our next generation product. In this role you will be developing new technologies in imaging, sensing and electro/optical systems. You will be responsible for all aspects of product development from concept to productization including architecture, design, hardware validation and root-cause analysis. You will be expected to collaborate with teams across the company, including embedded software, manufacturing, reliability, regulatory and others. Responsibilities:

• Development of new technologies from proof of concept stage to mass production
• System architecture design
• Module level characterization
• Design verification test planning and execution
• Perform and document the FMEA
• Laser optical safety compliance and certification
• EMC certification
• Ensure compliance with other applicable industry standards
• Collaborate with manufacturing team to implement system-level tests and troubleshoot and root-cause issues

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of work experience with TOF technology
• Understanding of theoretical concepts of TOF, especially iTOF
• Knowledge of TOF sensor calibration
• Understanding of the MIPI standard
• Knowledge of the IEC-60825 optical laser safety is a plus
• Good collaboration skills working with suppliers and integrators, including international partners
• Experience with Python, or similar
• Experience with MATLAB
• Familiarity with Linux environment, bash scripting knowledge is a plus
• Circuit simulation using PSPICE or similar.
• CAD experience (Cadence or other schematics/layout tools)
• Good collaboration skills in an interdisciplinary team environment

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related fields preferred (Optical Engineering, Computer engineering or similar).
• MS is a plus.
