Senior Director, Digital Channels (London or Los Angeles)

Job Summary:
Square Enix is seeking a strategic and internationally experienced leader who can take our owned Digital Channels to new heights in our Western markets. In this role, you will play a central role in building Square Enix marketing strategy for our Western website destinations, our CRM capabilities, and our supporting online development teams. You will directly manage a multi-functional international team located in both London and Los Angeles and will report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer.

Key Deliverables:
Square Enix Members
- Champion and develop efficacy of SE Members programme strategy including:
- Customer engagement
- Growth
- Member rewards
- Deliver day to day management and leadership for assigned teams:
- Web development
- Digital Platform
- Square Enix Members (technical and data engineering teams)
- CRM
- Remove barriers to internal communications and workflows between sub teams
- Ensure Digital Channels teams enable achievement of Marketing department objectives
- Establish and advocate appropriate KPI’s;
- Deliver performance tracking for key project websites
Websites
- Lead online development teams to ensure:
- Oversee assessment and ownership of technical platforms within Digital Channels ecosystem
Team cohesion and efficacy
- Deliver day to day management and leadership for assigned teams:
- Web development
- Digital Platform
- Square Enix Members (technical and data engineering teams)
- CRM
- Remove barriers to internal communications and workflows between sub teams
- Ensure Digital Channels teams enable achievement of Marketing department objectives

Knowledge & Experience:
Essential:
- Experience leading and supervising diverse multi-function teams – with a particular focus on managing multi-national teams
- Build strong communication and workflow channels between the marketing teams and the digital channels
- High level of integrity and the demonstrated ability to handle cross cultural sensitivities in a professional manner
- Experience overseeing day to day activity for digital marketing functions
- Proven ability to iterate and improve corporate online web presence (including landing pages and sub-product areas)
- Prior experience of complex problem resolution by leveraging subject matter knowledge, building internal consensus and managing client relationships
- Demonstrable experience creating a culture of cooperation, teamwork, and open communication at all levels
- Ability to multi task in a fast-paced diverse environment
- Accurate, dependable, detail-oriented, analytical, with strong organizational skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Authentic and genuine, builds rapport effortlessly
- Positive and professional attitude
- Independent worker (i.e., takes initiative and works well with little supervision)
- Ability to represent the company in a professional manner
- Prior experience creating business strategy and running package selection process for technology vendors in assigned areas
- Has experience defining and growing CRM / Rewards programmes
Competencies, Skills & Attributes:
Essential:
- Extensive experience managing teams and projects related to consumer-facing digital marketing channels for a successful commercial enterprise
- Personnel management experience in leading cross-functional teams across both Europe and the United States.
- Exceptional project management, problem solving and analytics skills
- Understanding of how a modern online presence is delivered, including considerations such as SEO, accessibility, security/privacy and web analytics.
- Experience in working across corporate matrices to build consensus and strategic alignment.
- For LA Applicants: Bachelor’s degree. MBA preferred
- For London applicants, no educational attainment required
Desirable:
- Experience working with Japanese companies is preferred
- Passion for video games is a plus.
