Senior Digital Advertising Lead
Jackbox Games is looking for a Senior Digital Advertising Lead to join our team.
Application deadline: June 10th. We will begin to review applicants and will be in touch after June 13th.
Who Are We?
Jackbox is a growing game studio (~70 people) best known for our Jackbox Party Pack franchise: a set of five social party games released every fall. Since 2014, our games--like Quiplash, Drawful, and Trivia Murder Party-- have been featured on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, by Polygon, and in living rooms and finished basements across the world.
In 2020, we had over 200 million users. And we have hard evidence that one of those users was Academy Award-winner Charlize Theron.
You can learn everything you ever wanted to know about how our games work (spoiler: your phone is the controller!) and who we are and what we make at jackboxgames.com.
What’s the Job?
As a studio, we have a lot of heart and care for our fans. In the past few years, we’ve experienced a surge of new customers as people discovered ways to host Jackbox games both in-person and remotely. Along with this growth came a need for us to boost our numbers on the marketing team so that we are best equipped to both engage our current fans and discover new ones.
The Advertising & Sales Lead will be responsible for ensuring that our marketing spend is as efficient and effective as possible. This will involve conducting market research, staying current on the latest advertising trends and tactics, building advertising campaigns, analyzing campaign performance, and proposing discounting strategies. The Advertising & Sales Lead will work closely with our VP of Marketing to maintain a responsible budget with a positive ROI. They will also work closely with our Marketing Editorial Lead and Lead Marketing Artist to create attractive and engaging content to drive potential customers down the marketing funnel.
The Advertising & Sales Lead will have their hands in the dashboards of all of the advertising channels we use and act as the main point of contact for any additional agencies or vendors we work with to bring our campaigns to life. As a studio that doesn’t sell our games directly on most of the platforms we work with, we have a unique challenge when it comes to determining the ROI of our campaigns. Having someone on board who is able to analyze performance against sales to develop algorithms for measuring effectiveness will be important.
We are a small and scrappy team of individuals with a lot of cross-functional training. This person will also be involved in supporting and reviewing earned and owned media. This is not limited to but may include coming up with email drip campaigns, setting up tags and pixels on our website, and joining brainstorms about how to extend our reach and hype up our campaigns. This is going to be a highly collaborative role and having someone on the team who enjoys dabbling in a lot of different tasks and actively contributing to meetings will be important!
Responsibilities:
- Work with the VP of Marketing to plan, build, and execute digital ad campaigns
- Create and execute a process for regularly researching the latest advertising trends and tactics and incorporating them into our broader plan
- When needed, seek out and vet additional vendors and agencies needed to bring our ad campaigns to life
- Create weekly advertising performance reports that analyze ROI and deliver those learnings to the broader marketing team and senior management
- Testing and learning with different audiences to improve conversion rates
- Evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touchpoints and make recommendations for optimizations
- Deliver monthly proposals for advertising budget distribution
- Work with the Marketing Editorial Lead to craft ad copy
- Create ad creative reports and deliver key learnings to the Lead Marketing Artist for future campaigns
- Review the performance of our discounting strategy, both in our own shop and in external platform stores, and make recommendations for future sales campaigns
- Submit discount plan in external platform dashboards
Ideal Candidates Will Have...
- 4+ years of experience in managing digital media campaigns across social, search engine marketing, and programmatic media buying
- Experience working at a digital advertising agency or managing a digital advertising agency relationship
- Familiarity with building ad campaigns in Facebook Business Manager, Google Ads (Search, Display, Remarketing, YouTube), TikTok Business Manager, Twitter, and Reddit
- The ability to assess competitive levels for keywords and audience and the resulting impact on CPC
- Experience with A/B testing and reporting on the learnings from those tests
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, specifically with distilling technical information into key takeaways for a layperson
- The ability to juggle multiple campaigns simultaneously with varying timelines
- The ability to leverage data insights into executive-level presentations
But It's Great If You Also Have…
- Experience in the gaming industry
- Experience with email marketing and using ActiveCampaign for email campaigns
- A strong understanding of SEO
