Beyond Good And Evil 2 is an action-adventure sci-fi RPG set in the same universe as Ubisoft’s original cult classic. You can now join our crew at Ubisoft Mainz to help us shape this amazing project.
As a Senior Development Testeron our team, your extensive experience is essential to ensuring high quality and stability of our game’s features and content.
With your proactive attitude, you work closely with the team lead to mentor other testers and to ensure that upcoming game versions meet all quality standards. You believe in working efficiently and testing thoroughly to achieve the best of quality. In close cooperation with your colleagues in programming, art and design, you make sure that software errors or game design problems can be corrected now, prevented later, and never reach our players.
What you will do:
- Perform daily tests and take responsibility for quality and stability of new game content, new features and upcoming releases
- Isolate and reproduce the bugs to assess gravity and probability based on Ubisoft’s standards, and suggest solutions
- Work alongside programmers, artists and designers to perform quality tests
- Report and monitor software errors (bugs) and game design problems in a bug database
- Verify fixes applied by developers (bug regression)
- Validate high risk changes before they are integrated into the main version in order to ensure stability and basic functionality
- Deliver feedback and reports to the development team, on a regular basis as well as on-demand
- Closely monitor validation sequences
- Work alongside the team lead in order to facilitate delivery of versions in accordance to their requirements
- Act as a direction-providing mentor for other testers
Qualifications
What you bring:
- Experience on a similar position for at least 3 years
- Excellent knowledge of English both spoken and written
- A strong understanding of development processes and the needs of different departments throughout a development cycle
- Good communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Adapt easily to platform and workload variations
- Expertise in writing test-cases and setting up test procedures
- Open to changes and self-improvement
- Proactive and independent working manner
- Knowledge of gaming platforms (Xbox One, PS4, PC, etc)
- Experience with MS Office, Confluence, Sharepoint
- Proficiency in defect & test case management tools (e.g. JIRA, TestRail)
- Strong understanding of game design
* Experience in multi-platform game development is a plus
* Experience in AAA game development is a plus
