Jam City is seeking a Dev Ops Engineer to work on our mobile strategy video game, World War Doh. You will manage the infrastructure of a F2P game and use that data to inform strategic roadmap decisions in the pursuit of delivering a world class player experience. Passionate about working with servers that handle a large player-base? Do you want to automate all-the-things? As a DevOps Engineer, you will take ownership of our server infrastructures and internal tooling running in AWS and GCP. We take pride in building highly scalable and reliable systems, and you’ll work closely with the backend engineering team to ensure a high level of availability for our games.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Troubleshoot live server issues and establish best-practices to prevent future incidents.
- Maintain our monitoring and alerting system for our game servers.
- Deploy new software and any associated configurations.
- Develop easy-to-use tooling to automate deployment and maintenance of our infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain admin tools to ease the operation of our live games.
- Help to improve the security of our server infrastructure.
- Maintain server infrastructure operational at optimum performance while optimizing it to be cost effective.
- Triage and debug issues on our live environments and assist the development team to find timely solutions to server issues.
- Availability to highly participate on an on-call rotation to support critical production issues.
- Solve challenging live server issues in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of relevant work experience setting up and running cloud infrastructure.
- Comfortable with Linux system administration and some DBA operations.
- Working experience with AWS and Google Cloud Platform.
- Enjoy working in a small-team environment that ships frequent, small iterations.
- Experience operating online infrastructure at scale.
- Experience with distributed and centralized logging (AWS CloudWatch and X-Ray).
- Experience working with HTTP Rest APIs.
- Write clean and re-usable code/scripts.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with PHP and Node.js development.
- Basic knowledge of the .NET core development environment.
- Experience operating online infrastructure at scale.
- Experience with AWS ECS (Docker, Fargate, Kubernetes), TerraForm, CloudFormation, ElastiCache, DynamoDb databases, Lambda, SNS, S3 and CloudFront.
- Experience with Continuous Integration Tools (Travis, Jenkins, Unity Cloud Build)
- Experience setting up DataDog/VictorOps dashboards and alerts.
- Experience setting up CloudWatch dashboards and alerts.
- Used any configuration management system (e.g. Puppet, Ansible).
- Know the TCP/UDP stack like the back of your hand.
