Data is at the heart of player, product, and business insights on our titles. This critical role will build and grow the foundation for our studio in insights into our players and our business. The role will report to the Director of Data, Analytics & Insights (DAI). The person in this role is most successful when they combine product and business needs with robust data models and algorithm structures to build data products that drive better studio and player experiences. We are seeking a talented and passionate Senior Data Scientist with a focus on Data Products and Machine Learning to join our team. In this role, you will help shape the future of gaming by creating advanced data products, predictive models, and recommendation systems that enhance the player experience and inform our design, development, and optimization efforts.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with game designers, developers, product managers, data analysts, and engineers to identify opportunities for data products, machine learning models, and recommendation systems that can enhance the player experience and drive engagement, retention, and monetization.
- Design, develop, and validate machine learning models and algorithms to predict player behavior, customize in-game experiences, optimize matchmaking, and improve game balance.
- Implement real-time machine learning solutions that can adapt to rapidly changing player behavior and game dynamics.
- Evaluate the performance of data products and machine learning models, iterating and optimizing them based on feedback from stakeholders and user data.
- Work with developers and engineers to integrate data products and machine learning models into the game's infrastructure, ensuring seamless deployment and scalability.
- Ensure projects are on track for committed delivery dates and expectations and provide updates to stakeholders as required.
- Play a role in the creation of DAI strategy and long-term roadmaps.
- Work with generative AI models to innovate player and creator experiences.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends, tools, and techniques in data science, machine learning, and game analytics to ensure our game remains at the cutting edge of the industry.
Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data science, with a focus on developing data products, machine learning models, and recommendation systems.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL
- Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn) and big data tools.
- Deep understanding of machine learning techniques, including supervised and unsupervised learning, neural networks, and reinforcement learning.
- Proven ability to create and deploy scalable data products and machine learning models in a live service game environment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data-driven insights to non-technical stakeholders.
