About the role

As the Data Engineer, you will help the company understand our players better, by measuring and visualizing relevant information about them and their behavior, both in the game and on our platform.
You will help teams to define what metrics to measure as well as how, when and where to monitor them. You will work closely with the Live Service Manager and other Stakeholders to help plan releases. Your findings will be used to predict and retrospectively assess how the portal, the game and its features are perceived by the players.

Your day-to-day as a Senior Data Engineer
You will help teams understand what metrics are important for them and how they can measure and use them. Which events in a user journey are relevant and how we can learn from them. You will set up dashboards so stakeholders of all levels can review data relevant for them and help them make good decisions for the game, the players and the company.
In this role, you will be responsible for the data warehouses and make sure important information is handled correctly and available to make data driven decisions across the business.
Even though you might not interact directly with the community, you will help teams read between the lines and help keep them understand their customers.
At the end of the day, you will be the go-to person to find out, what is really going on.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a data engineering role
• Experience working in cloud based big data environments such as Azure or Snowflake and reporting tools like Power BI
• Experience in designing, implementing and managing cloud-based analytics frameworks like AWS, Redshift, Google Big Query, Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Good understanding of cloud architecture and date processing workflows in a cloud environment.
• A good understanding of game development processes and live service for games
• Great communication skills with a variety of different stakeholders
• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with data optimization
• Experience with data validation

• Experience working with big data and machine learning
• Experience from Free to Play or Mobile games
• An interest in multiplayer games
